Fake pilot busted in Italian airport
Grazie a: Fake Airport : 2012-10-25|10:38:39
An unemployed Italian man passed himself as a pilot and flew for free on a Lufthansa affiliate in an escapade inspired by the movie Catch Me If You Can, a movie based on a real-life story in which Leonardo DiCaprio plays a con artist who flew more than a million miles for free by pretending to be a Pan American airlines pilot, Italian police said on Saturday. Police said that in April the 32-year-old suspect, who went by the name of Andrea Sirlo, used false identity cards and a homemade uniform to fly for free on an Air Dolomiti flight from Turin to Munich. `Sirlo` was invited by the crew to fly in the cockpit as the third pilot, though he did not operate the controls. Police were made aware of `Sirto` when he introduced himself in January as a captain to an airline employee who felt `Sirto` was too young for that rank. He was arrested in the main check-in area of the Turin Airport on Friday wearing a pilot`s uniform without logo. White shirts with epaulets, black trousers and jackets, fake IDs, an airport staff parking permit, training manuals and two fake resumes were found in his house. SOURCE: Al Jazeera, Daily Telegraph

Italian scientists jailed for not predicting the future
Grazie a: Not For : 2012-10-24|22:28:44
SUBSCRIBE to Next Media Animation: www.youtube.com Seven earthquake experts were sentenced to six years of jail for failing to adequately warn the people of L`Aquila, Italy of a magnitude 6.3 earthquake. Facebook: www.facebook.com Webpage: www.nma.tv Twitter @nmatv: twitter.com Tumblr: nmatv.tumblr.com The Italian court convicted the six scientists and one government bureaucrat of manslaughter for not `predicting` the devastating earthquake. People everywhere were outraged and dismayed at this step back for the scientific community. The scientists, who are a part of the National Commission for the Forecast and Prevention of Major Risks, provided `inexact, incomplete and contradictory` reports on the tremors hitting L`Aquila, Italy, according to the court. Of course, the scientists can, and will, appeal the court`s decision, but this still sounds like something coming out of the 1500s. Did they learn anything from Galileo?! Let`s hope they won`t go after weathermen next!
